Update  Feb / 2023

After nearly 2 years it´s time to make an update on my pages.

A lot of things have changed: a new machine (CNC 6090) and a new location at home.

The new machine, bought 2 years ago:

CNC 6090CNC 6090

It´s an CNC 6090 with the dimension 600 mm wide and 900 mm long.

I bought it direct from China and after delivery I start with installation. But I made a miscalculation. The maschine was offered in a aluminium and a steel frame version. I desided to buy the steel frame version, because steel is much stronger than aluminium and, what I didn´t thought about, much heavier. Together with my son we brought every piece in the cellar. After putting every thing on the table and the machanical installation was done the mess starts.

All connectors are double checkt and for sure in the right place. All needed values for MACH3 are double checkt and correct. But the maschine was not moving. I send an email with some pictures from the electrical connection to the support. The answer was: We are sorry but there are some wrong connection. They messed up some colors on the wires. After changing this, the maschine was moving.

Starting a testrun and after 5 min the spindle stopps with an error on the VFD. Temperature fault. Opening the case of the controller and looking at the fan of the VFD - it was not moving. Again an email to the support. Now starts an email ping pong. Sende us pictures, send us video, send us .... After more than 2 weeks of ping pong they send me an new VFD. After installation of the new VFD the spindle run´s also on longer periods. Till now, from the electrical side no problem with the machine.

Now I started with the measurement of the accuracy of the machine. X- and Y-Axis are closely perfect (it´s a cheap china machine) but the Z-Axis was terrible. I was searching for the fault and found it. The hole machine is standing on 4 feets. When the traverse is in the middle of the Y-axis the bar, where the Axis is running on, is slagging downwards. During the design of the machine they didn´t calculate the weight of the traverse. It was to heavy for this design. I uninstalled the feets und put the machine direct on the table and the slag was gone.

At the end I can tell you: the CNC is working very well and I´m happy with it. But on the other hand what I can tell you: This company had, when I bought the machine, for sure no quality control
